The Clouds is a comedy written c. BCE by the Greek playwright Aristophanes (c. BCE – c. BCE). A failure at the Dionysia competition, finishing third out of three, it was revised later in BCE but never produced in the author’s lifetime.

The play as it now appears is believed to be the revised : Donald L. Wasson. “The Clouds“ (Gr: “Nephelai“) is a comedy by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, originally produced at the Athens City Dionysia of BCE.
